The ClinTrial Refer SHP App was successfully launched on the 18th of October 2017 at the annual SHP forum.

The Sydney Health Partners ClinTrial app is the first to include trials from a range of different disciplines - including cardiology, neurology, gastroenterology, psychiatry - rather than being specific to one type of cancer.

In 2016 the Clinical Trials Stream was awarded a $40,000 grant from Sydney Health Partners to accelerate the development of the Sydney Health Partners ClinTrial Refer App.

Since then, University of Sydney Medical School students have been populating the app with information on the currently recruiting clinical trials from across Sydney Health Partners’ partner organisations.

Associate Professor Judith Trotman, Director, Haematology Clinical Research Unit, Concord Hospital, said Sydney Health Partners’ ClinTrial Refer App is a platform to showcase and ultimately enhance the clinical trial activity across the partnership.

“However, I stress the app is simply a tool - it is all about the collaboration it generates and fosters and I am really hopeful that we can extend that collaboration to other non-cancer disciplines.”

“Our Cross-Cutting Stream vision is to make SHP recognisable as the most productive and “clinical trial friendly” research partnership in Australia.”
